Phantom Lake YMCA Camp takes pride in their friendly, creative staff. All of our staff are young men and women selected for their leadership qualities, maturity, enthusiasm, camping skills, and caring attitude towards children.

Many of our staff members were campers themselves and attended the Staff Development Program or Youth Leadership Program. They model the core values we want to teach our campers. Many of Phantom Lake YMCA Camp counselors are college students studying education, recreation, and child development.

Each counselor will be trained with the specific age groups of the children they will be counseling in mind. Not only will they be trained on how to respond to certain behaviors but current issues and how counselors can increase their camper's growth. In addition, all counselors are trained in first aid, CPR, child development, child abuse prevention and awareness, emergency procedures and are over-seen by the Camp Director.
